ACMG ACT Sheets
ACMG ACT Sheets
and their accompanying algorithms are a great resources for clinicians looking for information on genetic conditions (identified through newborn screening and beyond) to help inform clinical decision making. Developed by the National Coordinating Center for the Regional Genetic Service Collaboratives (NCC) and the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG
), ACMG ACT Sheets are available on the NCC and ACMG websites. Given the rarity of many genetic conditions—ACT Sheets and algorithms are excellent refreshers on the conditions, diagnoses, and next steps for your patients! Download at the Google Play

Experience the Future: Discover the Power of Genetics
Experience the Future: Discover the Power of Genetics is a dynamic interactive tool originally developed for The Endocrine Society’s 2002 Annual Meeting. Based on its impact and popularity over the last decade, the curriculum was revised in 2012. This program has proven itself to be a successful way to introduce health professionals and students to the experience of discussing genetic information and receiving genetic test results through live, simulated counseling encounters with experienced genetic counselors. These scenarios are even more germaine today, as genetics and genomics are becoming the future of medicine!
Each of the seven disease-specific modules (colon cancer, cystic fibrosis, fragile X syndrome, hereditary breast-ovarian cancer, hemochromatosis, multiple endocrine neoplasia type II and sickle cell disease) provides both faculty and participants with all the necessary program materials. Participants are assigned a specific case scenario, followed by a personal genetic counseling experience. Each module includes a curriculum for the delivery and discussion of genetic testing results in a face-to-face setting with a trained genetic counselor, working with a medical geneticist. This program offers participants the opportunity to personally experience the complexity and nuances of interactions with families and patients receiving genetic testing information.
In each module, you will find:
- Case scenarios to be assigned to individual participants
- Various genetic testing outcomes with pertinent discussion points
- Reference lists for further information
